The IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN 150th Anniversary Jubilee Collection: 2018 Teaser

IWC Watches is turning 150 in 2018 and hence is a big year for IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN. To make it even bigger, IWC is coming with an incredible collection of luxury watches ranging from the very basic ones to some of the most complicated and sought after timepieces. The complete set will be showcased in SIHH 2018, although there are few which have been displayed by another known luxury timepiece blog. The showstopper is a the Pallweber, which is based on an archival pocket watch from the 19th Century. This is more than enough to express how big this anniversary of IWC Schauffhausen is going to be. *We are excited*

150th Anniversary IWC Watches Collection

In the beginning days, IWC Schaffhausen Watches were known for its stunning enamel dials. The same has basically disappeared into the archive. As a tribute to these watches, IWC has fitted the Jubilee pieces with 12 coats of lacquer dials with printed markers meant to emulate the glossy, high-contrast look of the originals.  Available in bright white or deep blue, all the timepieces come with alligator straps. These luxury watches collection also come with a commemorative “150 Years” logo. The same either as a medallion on the movement (for those with open backs) or a caseback engraving (for those with closed backs).

Although we will be coming with a complete coverage of SIHH 2018, still here are few timepieces.

Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Editon ‘150 Years’

IWC 150 years

Arguablly, this is the most complicated watch in this collection. From what we know about this timepiece, its actually a perfect timekeeper. It displays the day, date, month, year, moonphase, and seven-day power reserve, all while displaying a tourbillon at 12 o’clock. Like we mentioned earlier, a complete Swiss Timepiece.

The watch comes with a new Caliber and is a first for IWC Schaffhausen to keep perpetual calendar & Tourbillon in one. The timepiece is a 50 Piece Limited Edition IWC watch.

Portugieser Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition ‘150 Years’

IWC 150 Year 2018

This timepiece by IWC Schaffhausen uses the constant force mechanism that was first developed for the Sidérale Scafuisa, which debuted all the way back in 2011. The Swiss watchmaker felt like this was the right time to give the constant force tourbillon new life, and with this watch, it’s definitely the centrepiece.

As its visible, it a gigantic timepiece with 46mm Dial. It definitely is not for the people with small writ/physique.  It also comes with a moonphase that comes with an accuracy of one day in every 577.5 years. That is dope, right?

The luxury timepiece is only 15 pieces limited edition with a whopping price of $250,000+.

IWC Schaffhausen Da Vinci Automatic Edition ‘150 Years’

IWC limited edition 150 year

This is another Da Vinci in the family with a 40.4mm stainless steel case, the only different thing is detailing. Instead of a central hand, the seconds are displayed in a smaller subdial. It also doesn’t have any window for dater.

With a 60-hour power reserve, the timepiece is a limited edition of 500 pieces at around $10,000+.
